Growing up, I had lots of friends that were medical doctors, some were dentists, orthodontists. They all loved helping people and I enjoy helping people as well. Ultimately, I got to see that they were able to help people and still have a good quality of life. So, that was something that was important to me, but as I’ve got into it more and more, I enjoy the interactions. I enjoy the interactions with people. I like, you know, to help people.
I like when someone who hasn’t come in for years comes in and says, “Oh, this was good. I had a good experience. Thank you.” I enjoy that. I enjoy when people can smile again, and they feel comfortable and confident after we’ve been able to work with them. I just enjoy making a difference, even if it’s just a little thing in every patient’s life. Again, even if it’s just making their life easier, taking care of something big or small, just having to be in a comfortable space where they can get what they need and I can help them with that. I just enjoy helping people.
Well, I started out, I went to Utah State University in Logan, Utah. My entire family has gone there and I went there as well. I enjoyed it, it was great. Close to home, but not so close. Everyone knows what I’m talking about when I say that, but it was a good experience. I enjoyed it, enjoyed it a lot. Then had the opportunity to go to Creighton University, School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. Initially, I wasn’t…I’m like, “Omaha.” Omaha’s great. I loved Omaha, people there are amazing. It was a great experience for me.
I had the opportunity to grow as an individual and as a dentist. The education there was great. Since then, I’ve taken as much continuing education as I can. I had the opportunity to go through the continuum education at the Las Vegas Institute, which is an amazing hands-on place where we learn all about cosmetics, veneers, full mouth reconstructions, did a lot with TMJ disorders. It’s been just an amazing thing, amazing opportunity for me. It’s the journey. It’s the journey and the fact that I’m constantly looking for opportunities to improve myself, my education so I can serve my patients better because it… My best today better not be my best in five years from now, because I’m constantly trying to become better and better at everything I do, and any opportunity I have to do that has been great.
Meet Dr. Scott Condie, a Dentist Who Believes in the Value of Hard Work
Dr. Scott Condie was raised on a small ranch in Idaho Falls, ID, where he learned the value of hard work. His parents instilled in him a strong work ethic that has carried him through to this day. He was taught to give each task his all and to make sure it is done to the best of his ability. Dr. Condie’s father taught him that any job worth doing was worth doing right. These standards have helped him live a life guided by high morals, honesty, and hard work.
Dr. Condie completed his dental degree at the Creighton University School of Dentistry, where he received an excellent academic as well as clinical education. With the help of a tremendous faculty, he learned many valuable lessons and was able to treat patients with many needs and be personally involved in their care.
Since his graduation, Dr. Condie has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education, including courses in posterior aesthetics, cosmetic dentistry, treatment of TMD, and full-mouth rehabilitation dentistry using neuromuscular techniques. He has also completed the full roster of classes at the esteemed Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, the premier post graduate dental learning center in the world. Dr. Condie feels that this extensive education allows him to offer the highest level of care to his patients and exceed their expectations.
Dr. Condie was also honored to serve as a clinical adjunct faculty member at Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa. Helping new dentists get off to a good start reinforced his decision years earlier to go into dentistry.
Dr. Condie knows first-hand how much dentistry can change a person’s life and has been personally moved by the gratitude of his patients. He always feels lucky to have played a part in improving their lives. These interactions inspire him to share the talents and abilities he has been fortunate to develop. Just as he has been able to make a difference in the lives of many patients over the years, he believes he can do the same for you.
